Abstract

The simple fact of performing cardiac surgery involves a major, complex and aggressive surgery as a concept. It is usually performed with wide incisions, total median sternotomy, and extracorporeal circulation. In this paper we present the first case of aortic valve replacement surgery by minimally invasive surgery (sternotomy in J) at Cardiocentro del Hospital Hermanos Ameijeiras, in Havana. Cuba. We made an updated discussion of the subject.
