Abstract

Cerebral, visceral and spinal protection are fundamental pillars for the interdisciplinary team around extracorporeal circulation in cardiac surgery that involves approaching the aortic arch and descending aorta. Myocardial protection takes on this same relevance since they are complex procedures that involve prolonged times of myocardial ischemia. We present the case of a 75-year-old patient undergoing reconstruction of the aortic arch and descending aorta with FET, using the continuous myocardial perfusion strategy to dispense with electromechanical arrest of the heart.
